Did you know it’s okay (and recommended!) to ask questions before booking your Chicago senior photographer? Trust me, I fully recommend asking questions to make sure your senior photographer is the perfect fit before booking and jumping into planning your senior photos.

Before you commit to hiring a senior photographer, one of the most important things you want to ask them is if you can see a FULL SESSION from a past client. This is a great way to see what your session will look like – from start to finish – in addition to some very important factors.

Here are a few reasons you should ask to see a full session before hiring your senior photographer:

Consistency

Are some of the images super bright and some super dark? Are some edited differently? Are some in focus and some blurry? You want a photographer who can deliver consistently beautiful images throughout the entire session. All of the images should be consistent in lighting, exposure, color, and editing.

On that note, a big part of consistency in photos is editing. Now, I know that there are some pretty cool Instagram filters and some really good apps that can help to edit iPhone photos on the go… But when it comes to your senior photos, you want someone who is an expert in Lightroom and Photoshop. It often takes both programs to edit an image. These are tools that professionals (oh hi!) use!

I know we just talked about a session being consistent, but we also want it to have variety. A gallery should have variety in posing, locations, angles, facial expressions, and so much more. Hire a photographer who can do both, consistency and variety where it matters.

When you look through a full gallery from a past session, you’ll be able to see what a senior session looks like from start to finish – taking into account consistency, editing, variety, and the overall vibe of the photos and photographer’s style. The photos below are – you guessed it – a FULL GALLERY from a senior session. This is the gallery, in all it’s entirety, that I delivered to this client. Just ask me, I’m always happy to share full galleries!

PRO TIP: Ask yourself, can I see myself in these photos? If the answer is yes, then you’ve likely found a Chicago senior photographer that is a match to your style and personality!

As a senior photographer, I absolutely LOVE sharing full sessions with potential seniors. Your senior photos should be as fun and as easy as possible for you, and that starts with answering your questions during the booking process and sharing a full session for you to really see my work! This is what I love to do!!
