Senior year is louder than the others, and it sneaks up on you fast. Your Oak Park senior portraits should be the part you actually look forward to, not another item on the list.
Seniors walk in nervous. They walk out obsessed.
Without fail. every time.
Four hours that feels like one. The goal isn't a quick session. It's photos so undeniably you that they earn their place on the wall.

About two weeks after we shoot, you come to the Ravenswood studio for your reveal. We walk through the full gallery together, mark the standouts, and put together the print, album, and digital package that fits your family. Narrowing is the hard part.
Showtime. Hair and makeup first, then we hit the first location. I direct the whole session, pose by pose, so no one is standing around wondering what to do next. The shift from "this is weird" to "wait, we're already done?" usually takes about eight minutes from the moment we start shooting.
Booking is the easy part. You pick a date, the session fee locks it in, and the prep starts. Style questionnaire, wardrobe support, and everything else you need lands in your inbox right away.
Oak Park families have a specific eye. You grew up in a town where Frank Lloyd Wright literally invented a design movement on these blocks. Architecture matters here. Texture matters. Detail matters.
When we plan your Oak Park senior session, we lean into what the town already gives us. The brick and wood of the historic district. The color of downtown. The tree canopy on Lake Street. We can pair that with a city stretch and a closing studio session at Ravenswood for visual range you can't get from a single location.
Every full senior session includes professional hair and makeup, personalized styling support, 2 locations (plus my Ravenswood studio), and unlimited outfit changes. You arrive ready. I take care of the rest.
Plenty of good options! I'll start by asking what spots feel meaningful to your senior. A block they walk every day? A coffee shop that feels like home? A park they grew up in? A Chicago location that flips the look? We'll brainstorm together, and I'll share my curated guide built across 19 years of shooting Oak Park, the west suburbs, and Chicago. Full senior sessions include 2 locations plus my Ravenswood studio. Many Oak Park seniors love pairing a local architectural spot with a city stretch.
You'll get tons of guidance on this, but to start - this is the moment to pull out the wardrobe stops! Most seniors bring 3-5 outfits per session. Full senior sessions include personalized styling support and unlimited outfit changes. Outfits range from really dressy (a blazer, a dress with presence, something polished) to fully casual (denim, classic tees, the favorite sweater). It depends entirely on your senior's style. The #1 rule is to stay true to who they actually are.
A full Oak Park senior session runs approximately 3-4 hours (starting with hair/makeup application). I keep shooting until the sun sets because that golden hour light is everything, and it's what makes your portraits glow.
99.9% of the seniors I shoot tell me they feel awkward in front of the camera before we start. But I help with all of it. I'll show you what to do, how to do it, and what to do with your hands (always the trickiest part). I also turn the camera around early on so you can see how photogenic you actually are right away. By the time we get rolling, you won't feel awkward anymore. You'll feel like a pro. I've got you.
Totally fair concern. Most seniors I work with have never had their hair or makeup done professionally before, and there's worry about looking too made-up or not like themselves. The artists I work with are some of the BEST in Chicago, specifically trained to apply makeup for camera (which is a different craft than wedding or event glam). They'll work closely with your senior to make sure she's happy with the result, and they'll fix anything that doesn't feel right. Bring inspiration photos for the artist - it always helps. (We'll cover this on our Zoom too.)
About two weeks after your session, you'll be invited to the Ravenswood studio to view and order your senior images. (Cannot wait for that part!)
Customer service is a huge part of how I work, and my goal is to make ordering easy and stress-free. You'll order your photos at an in-person ordering session at the Ravenswood studio about two weeks after your senior shoot. Most families tell me the ordering session is genuinely fun.
Your prints and products are ready four to six weeks after your order is placed.
Yes! I've photographed seniors from Oak Park and River Forest, Fenwick, and a long list of other schools across the west suburbs, River Forest, and Chicago. Every session is built around your senior, never around the school.
Senior sessions book up fast - especially summer and the fall color window. If you're an Oak Park parent or a high school senior ready to lock in the best day of senior year, let's talk.
