When I ask my senior clients what they’re most nervous about before their session, the #1 answer I get is that they feel awkward in front of the camera. Seniors often tell me they don’t know how to pose and have no idea what to do with their hands!
News flash: No one knows what to do with their hands!
But here’s the good news – I do! You don’t need to know how to pose or worry about what to do with your hands. I don’t expect you to know! Why? Because it’s my job as a Chicago senior photographer to guide you. At your senior session, I’ll show you exactly how to pose naturally and what to do with your hands. By the end of the session, like I tell every client, you’ll feel like a pro and will be posing on your own!
PRO TIP: Give your hands something to do!
For example, touch your hair, play with your necklace, hold onto your shirt, or rest your hand on your arm. You can even face the camera straight on and have one hand twist a ring on the other hand. Not wearing a ring? Pretend you are! Giving your hands a “job” in photos will stick with you and become your go-to anytime you have your picture taken.
