I don't want you to miss them either.
You’ve got too much on your plate to be fussing over everything that goes into a family photography session.
But I also want to give you an experience that is easy, carefree and fun.
Trust me to do my photo thing and navigate all the planning and behind the scenes work. Trust your family to be. Just be. That’s all you have to do.
When we initially connect to schedule a session, we’ll have a phone call so I can get to know you a bit and answer any questions you have for me before we meet.
I want to hear about you and your family, and learn your goals for the session. Who will be part of the photos? What do you want to remember about this time and this age? What do you want your child or children to see when they look at these photos 30 years from now? Do you have any specific concerns about a session?
We’ll determine when and where you’d like to take the photos, and also discuss what to wear for your session.

Two weeks after your session, you'll come back to the studio for your image reveal, and this is the moment everything comes together. You'll see your images for the first time, we'll go through your favorites together, and from there we'll create the wall art, albums, and pieces that will actually live in your home and tell your family's story.
Session day is here. Your only job is to show up and enjoy your family. I'll take care of the rest. The direction, the posing, the little coaching moments that make everything click into place. You'll barely notice it's happening.
After securing your family photo session date, we get to work. We'll nail down the perfect location and timing for your family because where and when you shoot matters more than most people realize.

"She makes them feel so comfortable, whether it is being silly with my three year old or making my 13 year old feel at ease. She is truly gifted with children. We treasure her photographs."
So many options! The comfort of home, one of Chicago’s beautiful parks or beaches, or even a city setting in the heart of downtown. I’ve taken photos in a variety of locations but I recommend you think about what kind of photo environment you prefer. Where are you and/or your family most comfortable?
Maybe your family is a jeans and t-shirt kind of family, maybe you’re a little dressier than that. My general rule is: Comfort is Key. No one wants to get photos taken when they are uncomfortable with what they are wearing! I recommend you and your family stay true to your style so the images we make reflect who you are. That said, I remind clients of a few things: not everyone has to match (i.e. khakis with white polo shirts) and bright, bold colors can photograph beautifully. When in doubt, I advise one parent to take the lead on choosing their clothing first so it sets the tone for complementary colors/clothing for the rest of the family. I also provide help and resources for this very thing! You’ll receive personalized wardrobe support to help you select outfits for every member of your family.
I want you to relax and enjoy this time with your family. We’ll talk, have fun and play games so we can capture real smiles and laughter from you and your crew. I don’t put a time limit on session length, but typically they last 60-90 minutes. The number and ages of kids in a session can affect that.
Approximately two weeks after your session you will be invited to the studio to view and order your images. (Tissues will be provided!)
I place a high value on customer service, and my goal is to make things as easy and seamless for you as possible. For that reason, I will help you through the ordering process. You will order your photos at an in-person ordering session approximately two weeks after your family photo session. Clients find this ordering session to be fun and easy!
Prints and products are ready four to six weeks after your order has been placed.
