is everybody and their sister pregnant right now? there seems to be a baby boom going on at shalimar b photography (i should clarify by saying that none of US are pregnant!!!!) all these beautiful mommies to be – can’t wait to meet all of these babies!!

one thing i love about going home to michigan is taking photos of people that i love – friends and family. this is one of my gorgeous cousins and her beautiful family. wait, wasn’t i just babysitting her? (i babysat at a very young age, by the way!) and now she’s a mom??

someone recently made the observation that i seem to find joy in my work. what a compliment! and such a true statement. it doesn’t matter what is going on in my life, with my day, in the world . . . if something is bothering me, if i’m tired, if i’m distracted . . . […]

i love sessions like this – cool family, fun kids, great setting, awesome lighting, lots of laughing. oh, and it helps that they’re all gorgeous!!

this family drove quite a way to come and see me – i’m so glad they did so i could see this guy’s sweet little face!

you can tell by these photos that this couple was a blast! not only did they introduce me to a new location for sessions, but, a pirate costume?? c’mon – hilarious!!!

a couple of things that made me smile and laugh out loud this morning. #1 – this sweet, smiling face! #2 – as i stopped at my local starbucks, seeing a man walking down the street wearing a speedo (I hope that’s what it was!) and a denim shirt. ah – city living!!
