This quote can be applied to so many different situations, relationships, and of course watching children change and grow. Every fall when school starts (technically, it’s still summer when school starts!!) I tell myself to slow down, cherish the year. And every year, before I know it, it’s June and we are days away from school being out. The years are literally flying by at lightning speed. It’s absolutely true what they say that the years get faster as you get older. I don’t know who “they” are, but “they” are geniuses. My oldest will start 7th grade next year, which I realize isn’t really that old, it just seemed to happen so quickly. I guess that’s why this quote resonated with me. Everything is different.
Having boys like the sweet, smiley boy pictured below in the studio brings me right back to when my boys were that age. My boys are still sweet and smiley – they just don’t let me pick out their clothes anymore!!
